This bit of hellish code (technically all in one line!) is written to fill in the numbers on a Minesweeper field, assuming the mines are already generated. A problem which made its appearance in a school assignment, clearly a nested-for approach is too simple and effective for this.
Static variables such as c and gotdamn are used to retain value over a lambda. Some might accuse me of reinventing the for wheel from scratch, to that I say:

        Who doesn't appreciate an endless samsara of iterators and lambdas, forever dancing on and on in a dim little for_each?
